About Cadre
Product facts before product claims
Cadre is a local AI screen recorder and non-destructive video editor for Apple Silicon Macs. It is designed for webcasts, tutorials, product demos and other screen-led company videos; AI-agent editing is optional.
Current product boundary
- Available for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later.
- Records screen, system audio, microphone and webcam, or imports existing footage.
- Edits remain non-destructive and visible on the timeline.
- Captions and private transcripts run locally with Whisper.
- Exports H.264 MP4 at source resolution, 720p or 1080p.
- Recording, editing and preview are free; Cadre Pro is required to export.
How claims are checked
Capability and privacy claims are checked against the current application code and runtime behavior before publication. Guides separate what Cadre does now from planned work, use meaningful modification dates, and link to primary sources where a material third-party fact depends on one.
Cadre does not publish fabricated testimonials, customer logos, star ratings, download counts or performance numbers. Comparisons explain the job each category suits instead of declaring one tool universally best.
