About Cadre
Product facts before product claims
Cadre is specialist video software for Apple Silicon Macs and Windows PCs. It equips ChatGPT Work or Claude Cowork to turn rough recordings into editable demos, tutorials and presentations, while keeping the creator in control of the brief, timeline and export. People can also edit directly in Cadre or connect a compatible coding agent.
Current product boundary
- Available for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later and Windows 11 x64 PCs.
- Records screen, system audio, microphone and webcam, or imports existing footage.
- Edits remain non-destructive and visible on the timeline.
- Captions and private transcripts run locally with Whisper.
- Edit with AI prepares reviewable requests for ChatGPT Work or Claude Cowork on the same computer; the setup paths are shipped, while complete fresh-account provider journeys remain in prelaunch validation.
- Cadre includes no AI credits or hosted inference; assistant usage follows the customer's provider account and data policy.
- Exports H.264 MP4 at source resolution, 720p or 1080p.
- Recording, editing and preview are free; Cadre Pro is required to export.
How claims are checked
Capability and privacy claims are checked against the current application code and runtime behavior before publication. Guides separate what Cadre does now from planned work, use meaningful modification dates, and link to primary sources where a material third-party fact depends on one.
Cadre does not publish fabricated testimonials, customer logos, star ratings, download counts or performance numbers. Comparisons explain the job each category suits instead of declaring one tool universally best.
